Crowdsourcing Rio Favela Pacification

This research uses social media to map resident's sentiments on policing in multiple favela locations. The goal of this project is to uncover information about the policing tactics and violence in Rio de Janeiro using social media and crowdsourced data.
The various maps and drawings source information from a variety of social media platforms with specific searches around #policing, #violence, #pacification, #favela to uncover information about policing in favelas.
